Cavalier House, Jefferson, TX

The 1850 'Cavalier House' Bed & Breakfast is located in the
historic town of Jefferson, TX.  This town is known by ghost
hunters as a very haunted town in NE Texas and all hotels
and b&b's get booked up around Halloween for some seasonal
fun.

As the official Jefferson website states, 'Jefferson was a steam
boat port from 1845 until 1875.  In 1845, when obstructions
were removed from Big Cypress Bayou, steamboats could
reach Jefferson from New Orleans.  After the arrival of the
first steamboat, Jefferson became a boom town where many
pioneers to Texas first set foot on Texas soil when they disembarked from the steamboats.'

The Cavalier  House is one of the oldest homes in Jefferson and originally opened as a tavern.  This
home has lots of ghost stories attached to it and it's gracious owner, Barbara Cavalier, is more than
happy to share them with you.  Guests in this home often experience hearing the sound of ghostly
footsteps pacing around their beds at night, knocking and banging on the walls with no source in
sight, ghostly piano music playing and disembodied conversations.

Our experiences there included, but were not limited to, being touched, hearing a child's voice,
hearing tapping and bangs on the walls, hearing whispering in the hallway when no one was around,
etc.  Evidence captured at this location varied.  We captured video evidence of our camera moving
when no one was in the room and the dog trot hallway door closing on it's own (with no prompting).
Audio evidence ranged from strange sounds to disembodied voices of children and adults.  We came
away from this investigation feeling as if our night there really paid off.  This house was first
investigated by Credible Paranormal in north Texas.  They have been performing regular investigations
here and have had a whole host of experiences that made them come back for more.  Visit this B&B and
you won't be disappointed.  You can visit the Cavalier website at:
